Castle of sand

Our house washed away, like a castle of sand, grains running through my hands.

Castle of sand

I thought I built a house for us,

with strong foundations, pillars of trust.

I furnished every room

with beds of silk and soft futons.

I washed and cleaned every square

I didn’t notice you no longer standing there.

When the rain came pouring down you’d left,

I sleepwalked through the rooms, heart full of debt.

Our house washed away, like a castle of sand,

grains running through my hands.
