Poetry possesses a charming ability to transport readers to extraordinary realms, sparking their imagination and igniting the flames of wonder. With carefully crafting words and vivid imagery, poets create intricate expressions of emotion and sensation. This welcomes readers to a place where the ordinary transforms into the extraordinary. Moreover, through rhythmic verse and powerful metaphors, poetry paints enchanting landscapes, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. In these enchanted worlds of poetry, readers embark on transformative journeys, where dreams and reality intertwine. Each stanza becomes a gateway; every line whispers from a mystical world. This provides an escape from everyday life and an invitation to another world.
I wanted to share two poems that I wrote inspired by a magical world. The first one came to me when I saw a picture of a child engrossed in a book. The second one I wrote after I saw a picture of a jungle and a prompt line on Instagram.
The Enchanted Chapters
My childhood's book holds echanted pages,
sprinkeled with fairy dust.
It whispers of forest and magical places,
hidden beneath the crust.
Where unicorns roam free,
galloping through the green dale.
And elves build grand cathedrals,
deep in the mountain hall.
The hills echo secrets,
the stream hums a song.
Each chapters unfolds memories,
both distant and strong.
I with that I'd find the key
to enter the pages of gold.
Buried deep below,
in realms I used to know.
I feel the whispers of longing,
a story waiting to be told.
Perhaps it's my own,
a tale of treasures long gone?
In the forest hush,
where unicorns roam free.
I can sense a yearning
a part of me that used to be.
The quest for the hidden key
becomes a quest whitin.
To find pieces of myself,
in realms I've never been.
The Forest at the End of the World
In the forest at the end of the world,
the sky meets the trees.
Birds are nesting way up high,
bees are flying free.
A waterflow flows gently down,
from hills of evergreen.
The smell of flowers and sycamore trees
fills the evening breeze.
Fruits are growing from branches of green,
red and so sweet to the taste.
Like the forbidden fruit from the Garden of Eden,
I reach for the ripest seed.
My hunger is stilled, and my mind is at ease,
in the shadow where I rest.
But my safe haven was not to be,
for it was just a dream.
I open my eyes to the traffic outside,
gone is the gentle ground.
Of my paradise lost, there is nothing left,
just the street's hollow sound.
I wish that I could go back
to this precious spot of mine.
Can I renturn once anew,
or is my fate like Eve's,
banished for all of time?
Closing thoughts
The power of poetry does not only reside in its words, but also in the emotions and experiences it evokes. It offers comfort, inspires, and provides the opportunity to embark on new journeys, transporting us to places beyond our ordinary lives. May the enchanting essence of poetry continue to weave magic and wonder in the hearts of readers.
